receptionist is VERY rude.
I have contacted the surgery on may occasions and unfortunately, the reception staff are usually curt and unhelpful.
We have been using Studholme surgery since 1978 and have watched it evolve over the years. Recently they have changed their systems and made it so easy to request things like repeat prescriptions and book a Doctor’s appointments using the latest technology. You don't always have time in these busy days to call during surgery hours to resolve problems. However, not everyone can use the latest and greatest so they still offer that personal service. Sometimes you need just a few words with a Doctor about an issue, and their telephone appointment system saves you having to attend the surgery. They have recently hired a Chemist to help resolve prescription issues, and this was just inspired as she can spend the time working through what your medication does and its usage. Their quarterly newsletter informs every one of the latest services and upcoming changes that will take place. We all realise there is a GP shortage at this time, but the surgery does its best to make sure it has the best GP’s available to its patients. We have seen them evolving even better patient care with all their specialist surgeries, and their use of alternative medicine. Yes they have grown with the times and still offer that homely GP service.
If my appointment is routine I'm now trying to think a few weeks ahead instead of before a week ahead because I know how busy the surgery is getting and there are times I 've needed an urgent appointment and have usually managed to get one on the day or the phone on duty doctor.
I had minor surgery at the studholme medical centre with Dr Tang and I would say I was in the best hands. He was professional, caring, friendly and best of all his work was excellent had a cyst removed from my head and he did 4 stiches perfectly. The nurse was great too.
